Welcome to Kaevo — your family's financial and life command center. Here's how to get started in 5 minutes:

1. Set up your household — Go to House & Equity and enter your home value and mortgage details. This powers your Net Worth tracker.
2. Add your bills — Open Budget & Income and enter your monthly bills and income. Kaevo will track what's paid and what's due.
3. Add your cars — Go to Cars & Loans to track loan balances, service intervals, and maintenance history.
4. Invite family members — Go to Family Members under Account to add your partner or children with their own logins.
5. Plan a vacation — Head to Vacations and create a trip with a full day-by-day itinerary including costs, reservations, and packing lists.

Budget & Income is your financial control center. It shows a rolling weekly calendar of your bills, income, and spending.

• Adding bills — Click any cell in the bill row to enter an amount for that week. Bills with a fixed due date populate automatically.
• Marking bills paid — Click the checkbox next to a bill to mark it as paid. The running balance updates in real time.
• Starting balance — Set your account balance at the start of each month so projections are accurate.
• Net Worth — Automatically calculated from your home equity, retirement accounts, investments, vehicles, and debts.
• Credit Scores — Track all three bureaus (Equifax, Experian, TransUnion) for each family member month by month.
• Savings Goals — Create goals with a target amount and deadline. Kaevo shows your progress and projects whether you'll hit it.

• House & Equity — Enter your market value, purchase price, loan balance, and rate. Kaevo calculates your equity and amortization schedule automatically.
• Improvements — Log renovations with cost and estimated value added. These appear in your equity calculation.
• Maintenance Schedule — A 12-month grid of recurring home tasks. Check items off as you complete them; Kaevo highlights overdue tasks in amber.
• Projects & Tasks — Track planned or in-progress projects with cost estimates and status.
• Home Vitals — Store paint colors, grass type, appliance model numbers, and other details you always need but can never find.
• Warranties — Log appliance warranties with expiry dates. Kaevo alerts you before they expire.

• Creating a trip — Click + New Trip and enter the destination, year, and travel dates. Then add stops day by day.
• Itinerary stops — Each stop has a time, location, activity, hotel, cost, paid amount, confirmation number, and notes.
• Cost tracking — Kaevo totals all trip costs and shows how much has been paid vs still owed. Click the cost KPI for a full drilldown.
• Trip Mode — Tap the airplane icon during your trip for a simplified real-time view showing today's schedule and what's coming next.
• Packing lists — Each trip has its own packing list. You can also save and reuse templates (Beach Trip, European City Trip, etc.).
• Checklists — Pre-built pre-departure checklist covering passports, insurance, bank notification, and more.
• Travel Documents — Store passport numbers and expiry dates for every family member. Kaevo alerts you when they're expiring.

• Family Members — Add each family member with a name, emoji avatar, email, and role (Admin or Viewer). Admins can edit data; Viewers can only read it.
• Medical Records — Store blood type, allergies, doctors, medications, and conditions for each family member.
• Career Planning — Track career projections, target companies, certifications, and document uploads for each working member.
• Recipes & Meal Planner — Save recipes and drag them onto a weekly meal calendar. Each recipe shows ingredients, instructions, and serving size.
• Events Calendar — A shared family calendar for concerts, sports events, school dates, and activities.
• Local Adventures — A bucket list of local activities and attractions organized by region.

• Retirement & Investments — Track all investment accounts with balances and allocation targets. View a projection chart to your retirement year.
• Insurance — Store all policy details — provider, policy number, premium, coverage, and renewal date — for home, auto, life, and health.
• Estate & Legal Vault — Store will status, beneficiary info, and important legal documents.
• Estate Checklist — A comprehensive checklist of estate planning tasks with priority levels and notes.
• Emergency Prep — Track supplies, emergency contacts, evacuation routes, and a pre-storm checklist.
• Subscriptions — Log recurring subscriptions with monthly costs. Kaevo totals them so you can spot unused ones.

The AI Assistant is powered by Anthropic's Claude AI and analyzes your actual Kaevo data to answer questions about your finances, travel, and family.

• AI Access — AI features are included with your Kaevo subscription. No API key setup required.
• What it can do — Ask it to analyze your budget trends, suggest savings strategies, compare vacation costs, or explain any section of your data.
• Context modes — Toggle "Full Context" to give the AI access to your complete data, or "Quick Chat" for general financial questions.
• Document Reader — Upload a PDF (bank statement, tax doc, contract) and the AI will summarize or answer questions about it.

• Cloud Sync — Your data is automatically saved to the cloud each time you make a change. No manual saving needed.
• Export JSON — Click Backup ▾ → Export JSON to download a full backup of your data as a JSON file. Keep this somewhere safe.
• Restore from backup — Click Backup ▾ → Data Safety → Restore and paste or upload a previous JSON export.
• Firebase sync (advanced) — Optionally connect your own Firebase Realtime Database for an additional real-time sync across devices.
